Join NowMy classmate showed accuracy in identifying the claims that were produced within the video. He or she identified the main claims of saving money and possible weight loss is due to fewer distractions created by more use of the self-checkouts. In understanding my classmate’s personal observations they slightly conflict with my personal observations. My personal observation’s is that most of the money consuming and weight gaining opportunities does not occur at the checkouts, but within the interior of the store. But I do agree, with my classmate observations that self checkouts can provide a way to save money by providing less of a distraction for some customers. The conflict in background information is that; I based my information on personal experiences, and the knowledge of other shoppers that I have interacted with. My classmate’s background information is based on personal accounts and statistics within the video; to include his or her job experience. The idea of how stores are setup is also very important to the claims made within the video. The background analysis is the same in that the self checkouts do offer fewer distractions by eliminating sugary foods and magazines. In my opinion, the author is biased because the story was a good way of getting the viewers attention as well as boosting ratings. In conducting this feedback, I used the general approach by being positive and providing supporting details within my feedback. I also used professionalism to conduct this peer review.
