Critcal Thinking

In the poem, “When I Heard the Learn’d Astronomer” by Walt Whitman, I believe Whitman is trying to reiterate the fact that one person’s perception of learning is not necessarily for everyone.   The poem states that it’s okay to maintain separateness and experience things from a different perspective; not always fall in agreement with everyone else perception.   The educated astronomer’s approach appeared to be dry and boring to the narrator and he believed to truly get the full and total concept, he needed to personally interact because he “wander’d off” alone.   He needed to discover the life of astronomy in his own perception.   I believe that because of the lecture from the astronomer, the narrator was able to appreciate and become more in love with astronomy.   The stars have always been in the sky at night but because the speaker had never truly taken the time prior to the lecture his interest was elsewhere.   The narrator described the night as “mystical” which explains that there was much more realism and greatness and not just scientific facts.  
I believe that there are always concerns of different aspects of learning and that’s what makes this journey so unique for me. In an article written by Diana Hodgson (2009) she stated, “Finding your life's purpose is one of the most important requirements for happiness. However, before you can find your life's purpose, you need to do some preparatory work.”(Subliminal Learning, para. 12).   I am truly excited to enhance my knowledge of human behavior and apply it to everyday life.   Like the narrator I think I will be able to take what I learn from this course and utilize it in helping and teaching others to make better decisions. I want to be able to motivate others to come up with a different insight and a comfortable solution that works for any situation that occurs.   The attention and time I put into my degree will help me feel completely confident about becoming an educator in the field of...
