Dave Pelzer was born in California on December 29,1960. But he wasnt born into one of the most ideal families. He was severely abused by his mother until he was about 12, this means he suffered for from that abuse for eight years or more. And his father died when he was still young. His abuse became so bad that his case became one of the three worst case of child abuse in the history of California. When the police found out about this they took him our of the house and put him in a foster home until he was 18.

His abuse was one of the top three worst cases in California history. The abuse ranged from his mom smashing his face into the mirror and making him repeat "Im a bad boy! Im a bad boy!" for hours as he stared into the mirror, to his mom hold his arm over the flame on a gas stove. Everyday he was banished to the basement where he had to stand until he was told to move. If he was was caught doing that his mom fixed up a poisonous mixture of ammonia and bleach and either   had him locked in the bathroom with it or stuck his arms in it. He had very little flesh left on his arms

You wouldnt be able to tell of Dave's past if you looked at him today. He has a wife and a son. But he has no regrets in his life. He learned from everything that happened to him. He has also written some of the best books ever.
