North Korea has incessantly disregarded previous warnings and legislation that prohibits the use and creation of nuclear devices. In the past, North Korea have launched unsuccessful missiles and if they are allowed to continue progress there will be a successful missile that could hit the United States in as little as three years.(MSNBC.com) “We will pursue denuclearization on the Korean peninsula vigorously, “ Obama said. “So we have not come to a conclusion that North Korea will or should be a nuclear power. Given their past behavior, given their belligerent manner in which they are constantly threatening their neighbors, I don’t think there’s any question that that would be a destabilizing situation that would be a profound threat, not only to the United States’ security but to world security.†Under no circumstances will North Korea be allowed to carry on with its destructive behavior and terrorize other countries. The launch of any missile from North Korea is “a clear violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1738, which expressly prohibits North Korea from conducting ballistic missile-related activities of any kindâ€(CNN.com). The United States and South Korea have formed a strong alliance that will assist in eliminating the threat that North Korea poses to the rest of the world. When asked if he thought South Korea was under in danger from North Korea, President Lee Myung-bak stated, “They will think twice about taking any measures that they will regret.
