Depression in Children & Adolescence - A Proper Cause for Concern?

There is sadness among children and adolescents seems to be increasing, but classifying it as depression and recommending antidepressants are futile and possibly deadly.   It is about time to focus on the underlying reasons such as searching into the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and their practices on health and antidepressants, Rudd, M., Cordero, L., & Bryan, C. J. (2009).   There are frequent misconceptions and reactions to the understanding that a child is depressed.   What do they have to be depressed about?   Just over forty years ago, there were many physicians who had a lot of doubt about the existence of significant depressive disorders in adolescents and children, first and foremost because they believed that children lack the maturity of having psychological and cognitive structure that is essential to experience these problems, Ankarberg, P., & Falkenström, F. (2008).

The motive why this matter is creditable of an investigation is because it has become a serious social concern.   The learner feels that if this matter is left to be ignored, the future of our youth is looking extremely grim.   The learner feels it is very imperative that people start addressing the concern surrounding depression in today’s society in order to educate the future generations on how to be resilient against the use of antidepressants.
The learner proposes to explore this concern further by researching several social factors surrounding depression throughout the country.   I also propose to inquire about out how this has occurred by searching the ontological characteristics of this phenomena, the learner aims to provide evidence that depression in children and adolescents is a massive cause for alarm in our society today.   The epistemology of this social concern is also of great value to the research of what will detail this study as the learner intends to find out the reasons why our children and...
