DESCRIPTION OF A 1ST. + AID DIGITAL THERMOMETER FOR ORAL OR UNDERARM USE (ITEM NO. 075/025)

INTRODUCTION
The 1st. + Aid digital thermometer for oral or underarm use (item no. 075/025) is white, measuring 129.5mm long and varies in width. The widest part of the thermometer is found at the top by the cap, measuring 18.5mm, and the thinnest part is found at the end by the tip, measuring 3.2mm. It is made of a smooth, hard plastic with a silver tip. The thermometer is used to measure body temperature, mostly when ill. This thermometer is composed of four main parts (as shown in figure 1):
 The cap
 The battery
 The body/frame assembly
 The tip

The Cap
The cap (as shown is figure 1) is found at the top of the thermometer, since this part is held away from the body. It is white and made of a smooth, hard plastic and resembles half an oval. It measures 19mm long and 18.5mm wide. The main function of the cap is to protect the battery.

The Battery
The battery is made of a metal and is small and silver. The type of battery used to power the thermometer is an LR41 battery. The battery powers the thermometer and is placed in a compartment at the back of the body/frame assembly (as shown is figure 2), under the cap.

The Body/Frame Assembly
The body/frame assembly is made of the same material as the cap. It measures 100.5mm long and the width increases as you move towards the cap and decreases as you move towards the tip. The widest part of the body/frame assembly (closest to the cap) is 18.5mm and the thinnest part (closest to the tip) is 3.2mm. It houses the display screen and the power button (as shown is figure 1).
The Display Screen
The display screen, also known as a LCD (liquid crystal display) screen, is rectangular in shape, measuring 15.5mm long and 6.5mm wide. The main function of the display screen is to allow one to read the temperature measurement in degrees Celsius (°C). The temperature reading...
