JULIET
(Before taking
potion)
Dear Diary,
I am facing a terribly hard decision -- I don’t know whether to take the potion that Friar Lawrence gave me or not. If I drink it, I shall be risking my life because there is a great chance that the potion may fail and be fatal. What if I’m accidentally buried alive and wake up in a coffin with nothing but my dead ancestors all around me? I can’t even bear the chilling thought of it! I hate to force my parents to cope with a second death in the family; after all, the have been through so much pain during the last couple of days. Although my father was mad when I confronted him about Paris, I still think he would be devastated to lose his only child. But assuming that drinking this poison actually works, it does mean that I can be with Romeo. And that is what means more to me than anything in the world.
