In life, every people in every world have own languages to talk which usually have influences on an individual or on society. On the three story which named The truth about Lying, Talk in the Intimate Relationship, and Mother Tongue deal with language speaking and have influence on individual and on society.
First of all, we take a look on the story named the Truth about Lying written by Judith Viorst. In the story Judith – the author discuss on what people use language on telling a lie. That is the influences of language on both individual and society. There are many kind of people using language to tell a lie but each person have his own reason on why he use languages to deal with lying. In the story, the influences of using languages on individual are that they use language on social lies, peace-keeping lies. What is social lies? That is the show of everyday conversation. People tell a lie to each other but it is not because bringing the bad to others but make other happy and give the general greeting to other. Like in the story, Judith show that most of the people find that social lying are acceptable and necessary.It’s arrogant, they say to insist on being so incorruptiable and so brave that you cause other people unnecessary embarrassment or pain by compulsively assailing them with hosesty. Like me, I usually say that “It’s nice to see you!” or “Oh, you look nice today!” to show my greeting to other people unless that is a lying. Like in the story, Judith gave us many example that people use languages to say a lies with make other people happy or release other people pain like “We busy last night – sorry we can’t come” that lie release other people angry on thinking other reasons in case of they didn’t come. Beside the influence on individual, in the story, author give readers the example of lanugage influenced on society that are example of   protective lies and truth-keeping lies.
