Dangers on the road
With the rapid development of modern transportation, more dangers have been on the road. Motorbikes, cars, trucks and buses are all rushing quickly. A great number of people believe that this advanced technology -- the improvement of speed, is the arch – criminal of traffic accidents on the road. However, things are not that simple. These dangers are not only caused by fast speed but also by people’s wrong behaviors. Here, three important causes can be seen – traffic jams, incorrect understanding of traffic regulations and absent – minded driving.
Firstly, the strain in traffic jam can easily lead to people’s blindness to traffic rules. During the peak hours, people are very stressed because they cannot reach their normal speed. They have nothing else to do but going forward like a snail. As soon as they are released from the busy road, they are often so anxious that they rush to their destination in a rather crazy way. The strain has already prevented them from acting correctly. They burst out their feelings. For instance, they can’t figure out the direction, they run a red light or they take the curve much too quickly. In this case, when many mad vehicles are running nearby, it’s easy for accidents to happen.
The second reason is people’s assumption of safety on the road. Many pedestrians consider themselves surly safe because the traffic regulations are there, and the drivers should obey the rules. When there’s nobody around or they are in a hurry, pedestrians sometimes assume that it’s fine to break the law a bit. Something unlucky is that many drivers think in this way at the same time. It comes to the time when both of these assumptions happen synchronously, so is the time when the tragedy occurs. Neither the pedestrian nor the driver has realized that the traffic regulations can work effectively only if both of them obey the rules in all the situations.
Finally, absent – minded driving is reported to be the...
