Imagine waking up everyday on a hunt for more pills. Wondering where your next stash of illegal drugs will come from. Every day thousands of teens all over the world are becoming addicted, even overdosing to drugs. Many drug addicts are either in denial or don’t know the horrible deadly things that drugs can and are doing to your brain and you body when taking them.
In the long run, drug addiction, especially to Ecstasy causes serious even fatal problems.
Drug addiction is getting out of control. Most Ecstasy users are young teens between the ages of 14 and 17. It is considered a “club drug†and is taken at many clubs and parties.
The causes of drug addiction can be one of many reasons. Sometimes teens struggling at home may look for an escape to feel better, therefore they start using drugs. Another cause would be peer pressure. Also, sometimes people just don’t know the effects and the harmful things it does to your brain. According to the National Institute On Drug Abuse, “parents need and can help by educating you children about drugs.†Ecstasy disturbs your brain, and can cause you body to become dehydrated. It also destroys brain cells.
A Solution for drug abuse would be knowledge of the drug and what it does to you.
Sometimes you must take more action an have you child see a physiatrist for mental treatment. When teens don’t know how it harms them, then there’s no reason for them not to do it.
Like I said before, Ecstasy is a very serious drug. Although some people are getting smarter about it, its still an issue. You never even want to try it once, that’s all it take. One time and the next thing you know you want more and more. There are many places where you can get help if you feel you cant stop using drugs, but the best way to protect yourself is to not do them at all.
