Drug abuse, as one of the most burning problems in the society, has always been known for the devastating repercussions it has on the lives of the people involved in it. Loads have been written to give reasons to say no to drugs and to describe the suffering in its aftermath. They are valid indeed and prevention is definitely better than cure. However, it is a fact that thousands of youngsters have been drawn to this dangerous web of addiction. So the question that arises now is that will the sole aim of these young fellows be limited to the get free from addiction itself? Or can we at least take a few steps towards giving them fair amount of opportunities during the period of recovery.

        These are the words of a person who has climbed the mountain of addiction and had managed to climb down and come into the level with other “ordinary” people, who have not even stepped in the web of substance abuse. He had been through drugs, been through recovery, has come out of it, but is now stuck into the aftermath of rejection, social exclusion and isolation where neither the educational institutions are fit for him nor any suitable jobs or a fruitful relationship. For him, getting out of drugs was a sole destination when he started the journey of recovery. But the horizons were as deceiving as they always were.
          The first horizon that cheated him before the journey was of the solace he would find in drugs away from the doldrums of life. But it had taken him all the way down to addiction and now, when his destination was to come out of that addiction, the horizon again showed itself far from that in acceptance, love and inclusion which is even more challenging than just coming out of the substance abuse.   Today when he laughs and is happy in his own realm, with his family, he...
