E-Business Strategy
Commerce on the Internet, was virtually nonexistent in 1996, is now reported to be in the excess of a $200 Billion dollar industry.   Developing E-business strategies for many organizations is critical for competing in the digital economy and has virtually impacted every aspect of businesses online.   The E-business strategy must not only consider the technology involved, but also who is impacted, and what metrics are needed to implement the project to measure success and effectiveness.   This paper will examine developing an organizational design to support E-business strategy, implementation, opportunities and risks associated with E-business for the organization.
Organization Design to Support E-Business Strategy
E-business plays a role to help in reducing costs, improving product quality, obtaining new customers or suppliers, and creating innovative ways of selling existing products or services.   Developing comprehensive E-business strategy entails developing the competency that creates the foundations required to address the needs of the consumer.   If a consumer wants self-service, then the business design must provide the options (Singh).   Creating an E-business blueprint provides the link between the E-business designs, business goals, and lays the foundation for technology.   The E-business blueprint helps determine the application framework, maps the project and performance milestones that need to be accomplished.  
While there are no set rules to approach when developing an E-business strategy, there are two key elements involved:   business strategy formulation and the application framework (Singh).     The business strategy formulation determines the facets of business that leads to customer value.
