The Education Experience
Since the young age of 5 your freedom is stripped away from you by being put in kindergarten. You go willingly because it looks and sounds like fun, but actually you go in without knowing what nightmare you have started. Once you have gotten the ball rolling there is no stopping, for the next twelve years you are stuck in the education machine. But there are little bit of good that come with the bad. My father always used to say that school is like a bucket of manure with a little layer of honey, and once you get through the little layer of it the rest is; well you know.
My bucket looks quite different then my dads, my experiences with school were a lot of honey and not too much of the other stuff. It is not until recently that I have come to the conclusion that school was a great experience for me. When I look back at all the years that were spent in school I realize that there was a reason for each and every one of them. When you are in elementary they teach you the basics of how to interact with others and the necessities of life. One of the first and most important things they teach is how to share; this is something that will follow you for the rest of your life. We all know that sharing with others is how friends are, and without your friends you are truly nothing. The second thing that they teach is to say you’re sorry; this was one of the hardest things for me to learn to say growing up. But now I have learned that being able to say that one simple word can shape you world around you. Let’s not forget that in elementary is where you are taught your morals. They teach you not to hit others or there will be consequences, or saying bad words will get you into trouble. If they did not teach you the most basic moral of right and wrong at an early age, then those problems will escalate into worst things later on in life.
