For instance if a knowledgeable person with a high school diploma, and you with a college degree, applied for a single position at a job, you would get the job position nine times out of ten. The reason for that is because a college degree not only says you are knowledgeable; it says you commit to one thing and finish the job; it says you are a motivated and hard working person. While a high school graduate could voice all these things about himself to the employer, you have a piece of paper that proves you are the best for the job.
First off when you enter the working world after college you are older, wiser, and more mature than the competition of high school graduates. You have had more time to mature and start your life on a great path of success verses the high grads who have trouble finding work and probably have a work record of laziness.
Secondly, getting recommendations from professionals is a great effect of going to college. For instance lots of jobs ask for recommendations of three or more people that you know but not related to. So, your college professors would be great candidates. For they will say how hard working you were in school.
Experience is the main quality college gives to you. You are no longer treated as teenager; you are treated as an adult. You have proven yourself to be successful in whatever you put your mind to, and job employers will recognize that and want to work with you!
The effects of achieving a college degree are endless. A college degree is like a boost into the working world, and almost guarantees your work. Motivation is the main cause of going to college; the motivation to be successful in the working class of America today.
