Emanuel Swedenborg was a brilliant man. His quest to find the human soul is astonishing. First of all, I agree with Sweedenborg when he states, “Death is gentle”, and we already have a spirit that is like a well kept, but condensed journal of our lives for the angels to read when we arrive at the gates of heaven and hell. Truthfully a complete internal memory sounds more logical than other ideas that have been thrown out there. People leave scars on their heart and holes in their souls throughout their lives, the human mind itself is made to forget these things but they are always present and taken everywhere with each individual no matter where he or she may go. There is no better way to say it than “Be ready to face your most defensive dark side.” You chose your own fate in the way that Swedenborg describes life after death. Most, including me would consider that quite fair. Everyone wants a second chance and he is basically allowing everyone to do so in his version of the death experience.
Although some may say that Emanuel Swedenborg was a crazy man and others say he is a genius. In my perspective, I believe his accomplishment in science, life, and spiritually as well as his knowledge all help validate the truth of his claim to know god and find the human soul. Sweedenborg lived a very successful life, but there is no way everything spiritual that occurred in his life was a coincidence. This man knew what he was doing and knew what he was talking about, he just hid his journals from the world because he wouldn’t know what they would say or do to him. Every action of Sweedenborg was completely human nature. He did not have a mid-life crisis, he found his soul, and a blueprint for people of all kinds to do the same.
