Energy Conservation
Beside the fact that one-day fossil fuel could run out is the problem of burning fossil fuel it causes emissions to be released into the air. These emissions are known as carbon dioxide or simply air pollution. Carbon dioxide is also called greenhouse gas it is like a transparent blanket in the air and contributes to global warming. Carbon dioxide not only is bad for the environment but also is bad on people’s health. People breathe the carbon dioxide that is released into the air. This is one reason there needs to be new resources found, resources that are renewable and good for the environment which will make the air better for people to breathe. According to The U.S. Department of Energy (2010), “they plan to invest up to $366 million to establish and operate three new Energy Innovation Hubs focused on accelerating research and development in three key energy areas: production of fuels directly from sunlight, improving energy-efficient buildings, and computer modeling of nuclear reactors.â€
The sun, earth, water are nonliving factors that contribute to conserving energy. The sunlight can be used in place of a lamp during the day just by opening a curtain. Solar panels are another way the sun can be used for electricity in a home. Water can be used by the method of Hydropower this is when the energy is caught from water flowing downstream. According to the U.S. Department of Energy (2010) “Geothermal energy resources include heat from soil at shallow depths down to hot water and rock miles beneath the earth’s surface. Energy from geothermal resources is an important source of clean energy, because it can be a baseload source of power.†The problem is with the way some of these energies are gathered, many living things such as plants and animals need the earth and water to survive.
Plants and animals would be the living factors that are affected by the problem of using renewable sources. Plants depend on the land, water, and...
