Abstract
This report provides an analysis of the factors which contribute to the performance and mechanical properties of a crane hook. Firstly, the required physical properties for a crane hook will be discussed. From this, a list of methods in which engineers use to test these physical properties will be presented. Then a suitable material for a crane hook will be provided, with justification as to why this material is ideal.
