The reasons for these values can be attributed to my lifestyle in 2008 and currently in 2011 and my aspired lifestyle in 2015
2008
I was working as an engineer in an automobile firm. I lived in a rented house with all kind of modern day luxury amenities of a middle class .. I had a car and a motorcycle which is used for commuting. I used a car mostly and travelled alone with an average run of 15 km/day. With the calculator I can clearly see the impact of my requirements, uses and misuses on environment.

I will be working as a manger in one of the companies. The lifestyle will be very harmful to the ecology due to my increased consumption of electricity, fuel, consumer durables and luxurious products.

  1) My ecological footprint comprises of both social and personal components. The personal component is in my hands and I must find the ways to reduce my ecological footprint.
