          The Morality of Euthanasia

Life is considered by many people of this planet Earth as the most sacred thing in existence.   Once a life is lost or taken, many tend to think of alternate planes of consciousness or after lives. To die and be put to death have gone hand-in-hand for centuries, but what of the after effects of taking   a life?   The topic of Euthanasia has caused much debate and controversy but more importantly in the health community.   The doctor and the patient are the first in a long line of important symbiotic partners in this cause.   As controvertial as this assisted suicide is, death is imminent and the repercussions will always be felt.   However, Euthanasia can buffer this, by assisting death of the ill; suffering ends for all parties and the financial repercussions are less dire.   Is it not among the inalienable rights of humans to choose his or her own demise?   Pet owners do the same for their pets when they are in misery; they have to make the choice to put them down, (rsrevision.com).   Is it not a normal human compassion to want to do the same for someone they love?   The issue is more complicated than the belief that assisted suicide is murder or a crutch for the sick.   Another issue raised by the detracters is this is suicide and thus morally wrong and reference the “horrors”in Holland and Switzerland as the end result.   The controversy and moral stances has merit and is personal to many people, but the evidence shows this is more a blessing in disguise than a negative procedure.

After a large sum is paid for the price of human euthanasia, the doctor can put one out of his or her misery.   For example, most patients who are eligible in most countries for assisted suicide are the terminally ill.   Most people cannot afford to keep others on life support because of the rising bill.   To make matters worse, health insurance companies will not cover...
