Expository Writing

- Expository writing is a type of writing, the purpose of which is to inform, explain, describe, or define the author's subject to the reader.
- Analytical essay refers to a well-evaluated written report. It reflects the writer's critical interpretation of a topic.
- Argumentative essay you give your own opinion and then try to convince other people you are right with your reasons and examples.


Argumentative
Thesis: Individuality no longer exists in today’s society.
Topic Sentence: These days individuality is a thing of the past.
Topic Sentence: With all the influences of the media, people no longer are their own persons.
Topic Sentence: Everywhere you go today you see more and more the loss of individuality, as people are starting to look and act more and more alike.
Expository
Thesis: Students entering high school all need a laptop prior to starting school.
Topic Sentence: When students start high school one of the biggest things they will need is a laptop.
Topic Sentence: With teachers expecting more out of their student’s homework, a laptop is becoming more of a necessity to do their work completely.  
Topic Sentence: In today’s society we turn to the internet before we go to the library to research things and so for high school students a laptop is becoming a requirement to have prior to entering high school.

Topic Sentence: There are many things that are creating the people of today to become more and more anti-social.
