Welcome to the University of Brighton and to the FdA Digital Media Design course which offers an exciting opportunity to study a continually evolving subject area that will become more and more important as the demand for multimedia communication increases, and as new communication technologies emerge. The course is managed by the School of Arts and Media. The school was established in September 1998 and is the largest in the Faculty of Arts. Within the school there are four academic programmes, each of which have a number of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The Academic Programme in Visual Communication covers BA (Hons) specialist study in graphic Design and Illustration, as well as the FdA Digital Media Design course. Within the faculty several other FdA courses are also offered, including Contemporary Crafts Practice, Fashion Design, Fine Art Contemporary Practice, Fine Art, graphic Communication, Illustration, Contemporary Dance, Music Production, and Photograpy, There is also an opportunity, if admission requirements are met, to progress to BA (Hons) Top Up in Digital Media Design following successful completion of Year 2. The South East coast is an ideal place to study arts and media and its relative proximity to London is a key element in its vitality.
