Gay Marriage

Attached are two articles from Newsweek
"The Religious Case for Gay Marriage" by Lisa Miller from December 15, 2008. pp. 28-31.
"The Conservative Case for Gay Marriage" by Theodore B. Olson from January 18, 2010. pp. 48-53.
Search out at least two additional authoritative sources on the issue of Gay Marriage which take an opposing position. Write a four page paper, double spaced in which you offer a balanced summary of the arguments both for and against Gay Marriage. Complete your paper with a one page reflection of your own views, and how your views have stayed the same or changed with time and study. Note, your own view is not subject to being graded. You can be completely honest. Your grade will reflect how well you summarize the assigned readings and the additional material you find, and on how well you articulate your own views. The paper is due in class on Wednesday, April 27.
Extra Credit
Also, you will find the article "The Polygamists: An Exclusive Look Inside the FLDS," by Scott Anderson from National Geographic February 2010. pp. 34-61, [Look at the issue in the library for the photographs, which make up most of the pages. I have included only the text.]
Read the article. Reflect on it. Write a two page summary of the article.
