Glee: The New and Bright Hit on Television
The Fox broadcasting television network has brought us many popular television shows such as Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?, American Idol, Family Guy, 24, and House. Until now, Fox has never offered a television show that has comedy, drama and musical rolled into one.
Fox’s new hit show Glee is a Musical based comedy-drama television series that was first broadcasted in 2009 and airs on Tuesday at 8/7 Central. It is a show that cannot be compared to any other shows out there because of its uniqueness.
This show focuses on a group of high school kids in their school glee club called the New Directions and their road to becoming great again. Will Schuester, the new Glee Club Teacher of McKinley High School, was once part of their school’s Glee Club. It used to be the football team or cheerleading squad in the sense of where everyone wanted to be a part of, but now it is only a place for misfits and outcast. So Will had to bring the club back to its former glory by winning the Glee Club Competition even if Sue Sylvester is out to stop them.
Although Glee is not the most watched show, it still attracts a large group of viewers. In the second season, the debut episode was the “second highest rated telecast ever among adults 18-49 and its highest rate telecast every among adults 18-34” (Rice). It is also “the one people Twitter about the most” (Hiltbrand), and so many of you probably have at least heard of Glee somewhere, but if you are not a television junkie, you might as well begin because Glee will make you come back for more than just one episode, you will watch at least nine!
