GO GREEN CAMPAIGN

Nike has many options to save the world and to “Go Green.”  The world’s tire used tire population is sitting in landfills and junk yards all over the world.  Nike can use these old rubber tires as the soles of their sneakers.  The earth will be happy and the company can promote their “Go Green” sneaker products as “Nike, We Keep You Moving.”  The “moving” is a pun as tires keep cars moving.

The company will no longer use boxes for their sneakers.   The company will package its shoes in bio-degradable bags, similar to a Ziploc bag.  The bags will be green and will help promote the “Go Green” line.  The bags can be recycled and there will be no waste.  Bring the bag back to the store of purchase and get a $5.00 savings coupon to be used off of your next purchase.

The company will partner with a trucking company that only either uses natural gas or bio diesel.  Nike is such an international company, that it would be cost effective for any trucking company to accommodate Nike, as the trucking company will be part of the promotion.  “Nike, We Keep You Moving in a Green Way.”

For Nike to research this properly, they need to hire an environmental attorney and an engineer.  These two environmental gurus will be able to bring the dream to fruition.  The attorney will research the environmental laws and the engineer will develop the process.  Tires are recycled often but are generally used for fencing and playgrounds.  I have never seen this done for footwear, but Nike is so innovative that this will work.

Potential Survey Questions
1) Are there government tax programs or grants for companies who desire to recycle old products for new products?
2) Are the recycling manufacturing laws different from each state?
3) How involved will the EPA be in this process?
