b) Description:
Th?ng Long, which is Hà N?i's center nowadays, was chosen by Lý Thái T?, the founding king of the Lý Dynasty (1009-1225), as the capital of ??i Vi?t Kingdom (nowadays Vi?t Nam) since autumn of 1010 (In 10/10/2010 this year we celebrate the 1000 years old of own capital city). Th?ng Long means “ascending dragon,” symbolizing the will and thirst for independence of the Vietnamese people after more than one thousand years of Chinese domination.   The uniqueness of it is the long terms history of it. It became the capital city from very long times ago, it had 1000 years old like what you know.
Since then, Th?ng Long was almost continuously the capital city of Vi?t Nam through different reigns: Lý (1010-1225), Tr?n (1226-1400), Early Lê (1428-1527), M?c (1572-1592), and the Restored Lê-Tr?nh (1592-1789). In the periods when it was not the capital, Th?ng Long still remained a central city in the vast area of B?c Thành or North Vi?t Nam (1789-1831), Hà N?i Province (1831-1888), or B?c K? (also known as Tonkin) and the French-ruled Federation of Indochina (1888-1945). During the Nguy?n Dynasty (1802-1945), the capital was moved to Hu?. In 1945, Hà N?i was chosen by the Government of Democratic Republic of Vi?t Nam as the capital.
A wide range of the relics in large quantity includes construction materials like bricks, tiles, stone column bases, and ironwood poles....
