According to United Staes Census Burea reports, (2006) about 15% of the U nited States population is Hispanic which is about 43 million people. People may believe that Hispanic people are all the same but in fact just as our race is different, so is thiers.







































      One race of Hispanic people are Cuban Americans. Many Cubans speak spanish but most of them can speak english just as well. Migration into American society has gave them certain cultures such as language for instance. Many Cuban Americans have a much better opportunity in America then they would have had in Cuba, which leads them to be financially better off.

      Cuban Americans have different religions. Many of them are of Catholic denomination. But in Cuba there is no religion because of the biased leadership of their government. Many Cubans fled the country because of poverty, communism and other harsh factors. A cuban american family unlike other Hispanic Americans is likely to find themselves matriarchal and focused mostly on there immediate family on their mother and father sides. (Buffington 2007), claims that cuban americans are not likely to marry outside the cuban community, where as american born cubans are more likely to marry into caucasion families Another factor is that unemployment rates are lower for cuban americans than any other Hispanic group.(Buffington 2007).

      Another Hispanic group are Mexican Americans. They speak English just as well. In recent years many business have offered the spanish language on many of their machines and instructions and even on telephones. The language barrier still exist but is not as vast as it was several decades ago. It is good that there are organizations such as the National Accosiation of Bilingual Education to break the gap between English and Spanish.
