HOW DO DRIVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION CAR

S.P.: To inform my audience of the basics of how to drive a manual transmission car.
C.I.: In order to learn how to drive a manual transmission car, you will need to be able to have a moderate skill of multi-tasking, both feet, a brain, and most importantly: a manual transmission car.   I will teach you parts of a manual transmission car, how to get the car moving, shifting from gear to gear, and stopping.

Intro:

1. Say, “You’re leaving a bar and you realize your friend is completely intoxicated. You offer to be the driver being the good, responsible friend you are. Your friend complies. However, once you get to the car, you realize a funny-looking stick where the shifter is and three pedals by your feet. ‘Oh no! It is a manual transmission!’”
2. “I have been driving manual transmission cars for a long time and haven’t really had someone to teach me besides someone explaining it to me as I am explaining it to you. I own a manual transmission car and driving it has become second nature to me.”
3. “When practicing what I’m going to teach you, you might not want to start on daddy’s Corvette because those who are beginners usually burn the clutch.”
4. “Driving a manual transmission car has three vital elements which I will teach you in this presentation: clutch pedal; gas pedal; and the shifter.”
