How To Organize An Informative Speech

ABSTRACT

This library research paper shows the ways of doing a speech so that the presenters can give their speech in front of the mass comfortably in any circumstances. The information, which is used in this research paper, is collected from textbooks, students-done research paper in the library, and websites for professionals in the field of English public speaking on the internet. In order to organize an informative speech, the speakers have to focus on three important elements, introduction, main body of the speech, and memorable concluding remarks. Some of helpful steps are mentioned in order to support difficulties of presenters doing public speaking. Hence, a discussion based on right information of this matter is presented with recommendation for a better future of the art of public speaking in Vietnam.



HOW TO ORGANIZE AN INFORMATIVE SPEECH

Speaking in front of the mass in one of the popular works happened in universities nowadays. Moreover, speaking to inform has been chosen as a good method by most students in school. Therefore, the discussion of organizing an informative speech is made to help the learners who want to prepare the speech. An informative, for this purpose, mainly focuses on clarifying something by describing something, and suggesting certain measures to do something. Hence, you, as a lecturer performing an informative speech, should have to provide your audiences with only information; not let your own opinion or judgments “take sides” (Beginning and ending your speech, n.d., p.1).

Informative speech means to give clear and true information that is new to audience so that it can teach them about something (Dale & Wolf, 1988, p.72). Speaking to inform is how to make interesting and effective informative speech “…We live in a world of words and must be able to use the right words to make ourselves clear to people….” (Dale & Wolf, 1988, p.3).
