Improving Organizational Performance
Anthony Robbins, a famous author and peak performance strategist once quoted, “There is a powerful driving force inside every human being that once unleashed can make any vision, dream, or desire a reality.” Organizational psychologist plays an important role in unleashing this powerful driving force through scientific study of human behavior in formal organizational setting. In this paper the subject discussed is leveraging psychology to improve organizational performance. This will be accomplished by completing the simulation “Improving Organizational Performance” on the course website, discussing the four major phases in the simulation, and summarizing the organizational psychology concepts addressed in the simulation.
Four Major Phases
Airdevils Incorporated is experiencing low levels of job satisfaction among employees. The structure, diverse workforce, policies, and flexibility are addressed through the following analysis.
Selected cause
The first phase of the simulation begins with an analysis of the primary cause of low job satisfaction among the stunt performers. The cause of the first phase is twofold. The employees do not believe that they are doing what they originally wanted to do when they joined the company. The employees also believed the stunts are routine, which is not exciting and that the suggestions of employees are not valued (University of Phoenix, 2011).
Intervention selected
The second phase builds on the first, and begins to identify possible solutions to improve employees’ satisfaction. The second phase suggests appropriate interventions to achieve goals within budget. In second phase the employee survey, organization structure and company blog are analyzed to support the new direction.
