What are the three dimensions to business problems?
Organizations
Organizations have changed Information Technology as much as IT has changed them. Organizations can affect how technology is used and how it should be used. Organizations are structured with different levels and specialties. Businesses are usually organized as “pyramids†meaning there is one major person or group of people at the top and then several others on each layer on down to the bottom.
People
People are essential to business. Without them there would be no business. If employees are not properly trained to use the Information Systems then there is no point in trying to run a business. People run things still and people are needed to keep things running smoothly.
Technology
Software, data management, networking and telecommunications technology, and the internet are all part of the technology that keeps businesses functioning in this day and age. The internet in particular has created a sort of universal technology platform that can be used to build products, services, business models, and strategies. It has greatly influenced business overall. In fact there is scarcely a business out there that does have some connection to the internet whether it be a web page or email or something else.
What is the difference between IT and information systems? Describe some functions of information systems.
Simply put, Information Systems are the software programs of computers and Information Technology is the hardware of computers. Software is the programs that run everything computers are used for from the Operating System such as Windows to the simplest program to write something like Microsoft word. Software is completely essential. Without it, computers would simply not function at all.
Examples of IT would the hardware inside a computer, the CPU or Central Processing Unit as well as the motherboard. Also, the computer...
