Interviewer: So how have you been
John: Uh, good. Heh… slipped into another dimension there. Turned into an interview.
Yea oh, yea of course hahaha its true. So how are you doing?
Good.
Yea? You’ve been writing some songs?
Ever since I was nine when I first started, I was really mad at this guy who was…it was my last time ever playing a sport. Baseball, and..and uh this guy who I though was a real jerk, I sat in the outfield and made up a song about how Id like to, how I thought he should die. So I went home and I filled up a tape with 45 minutes of songs. And ever since ive been writing songs. Lately I’ve been writing a lot, like I write in notebooks like I go through a notebook every couple of weeks…and just do writing of all kinds movie scripts, I do, just stuff off the top of my head like mathematics, all sorts of things.
Do you remember any of those songs that you wrote when you were nine? That song about the guy uh…
No, I know that one was called Fuck you to Jose
But you wouldn’t know how to play any more now?
No all my songs back then were played like this (plays some simple chords on the guitar) but I assumed that I was tuned so it sounded like this (plays some better sounding chords) but I have no way of knowing I didn’t know what the fuck I was doing.
Uh huh
But Yea, I drew up a little single that had a guy just like stage diving upside down in the air, and our single had five songs like the L.A. punk rock group mad society did who had a nine year old singer.
But, the single was never made. So the songs are just flying around in the universe…
Would you mind playing some uh, some stuff that you’ve recently wrote?
Sure. But like when I do shows for this album im gonna do stuff, mostly from age fourteen and now. So do you mind if I play one from then? (Plays a wild sounding song)
That was nice.
Thank you.
So, Do you mind telling me alittle about the point when you left the chili...
