Adult Learning provides great educational opportunities and equips you with the skills and knowledge to sustain a successful career. The Journal Article Review that I have chosen is “ Changing the Odds: Informing Policy with Research on How Adult Learners Succeed” by Authors, Condelli, Larry; Kirshstein, Rita; Siver-Pacuilla, Heidi; Reder, Stephen; Wrigley, Heide Spruck published in 2010, Source of American Institutes for Research. Understanding the basics and concepts of adult learning and education, this article ensures you how to change the odds and overcome the educational barriers that most adult learners come in contact with. The article demonstrates how researchers have identified what differentiates learners from achieving there long term goals. In order to succeed a person must be willing to go above and beyond the call of duty.
Adult Learners must first set educational goals that are reachable to achieve. In doing so it will be undoubtedly easy to fulfill the first educational obligation. As an Adult Learner we must also possess a reason for learning and work hard at executing it. Most adults learning skills must be of significance in order for them to appreciate the importance of it. Although, adults share some similarities in some way or form there way of learning will distinctively be different . Some adult learners need fast paced relationships through educational concepts to grasp immediate knowledge. Others steer around revolving doors and demonstrate absolutely through medium speed. However, slow paced learners still exist and must operate on a time by time basis incorporating all materials into one concept. Regardless of the time it takes and adult learner to distinguish what educational method works best , simply concentrate on the good deeds that will soon come to follow.
