Abstract
This paper is a fulfillment for EDUC8847 Module 1 Assignment 1. In this paper I will reveal the topic of my workshop: Engaging First Year Students in their College Success. I will also list three web sites that include multimedia artifacts for active learning on the topic of my Multimedia Workshop. For each Web site I have determined whether the active engagement focuses on a behavioral or cognitive activity.
My Workshop Topic
After much thought, I decided that the topic for my workshop is: Engaging First Year Students in their College Success! I feel this is an important topic for educators and students alike. There are many workshops given (at least on our campus) for the incoming freshmen…however very few for faculty.
The sites I have chosen that I feel will include multimedia artifacts for active learning are listed below:

This site offers a great questionnaire that I feel is a good cognitive activity. This questionnaire is used to help the teacher gain understandings of the importance of knowing their students learning style…knowing where they are in the arena of their learning styles. I feel first year students at this point are naive to the question…What type of learning style do you have? Knowing the answer would help not only the instructors understand how gear their instructions but to help the student be successors of their college journey.
