In the story Le Morte D’ Arthur by Sir Thomas Malory Shows king Arthur as a strong leader. In the story Le More D’ Arthur, Arthur’s father king Unther becomes ill and send his son to live with his dear friend Sir Ector. While at a jousting Tournament Sir Ector tells Arthur to go and get a sword for his son Kay, the only sword around is Excalibur, Arthur pulled out the sword and was named king f England. A leader according to Webster’s dictionary is the person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country: a person followed by others The story shows of many leadership qualities King Arthur had. President Obama is also leader; his leadership qualities resemble king Arthurs. Although president Obama and king Arthur are from different time periods they share the same leadership qualities of being wise, brave and a leader who inspires their communities.
Throughout Le Morte D’ Arthur, King Arthur inspires the community. When Arthur pulled Excalibur out of the stone he became one of the most popular kings. Sir Thomas Malory wrote, “ The congregation was awed by this miraculous sightâ€(Malory). Arthur’s age, size, and social status made him an unlikely one to pull out the sword and become king. In the same manner, President Obama beat the odds in modern day America by being elected the first African American president of this country.
