Introduction
This paper will benchmark various companies as they relate to the Kuiper Leda scenario and the various concepts of supply chain management such as identifying domestic and global best practices in supply chain management, assessing existing supply chain management practices, evaluating opportunities for improving supply chain operating efficiencies, and analyzing ethical issues among supply chain stakeholders.   The paper also includes the situation that each company faced, and their response and outcome. The paper includes an analysis of how these companies relate to the Kuiper Leda scenario.

Domestic and Global Best Practices in Supply Chain Management
Domestic and global best practices in supply chain management can offset the many supply chain disruptions that can significantly impact shareholder value and company brands. True enough, there are very few solely domestic companies left these days as a result of an increasingly more globalized market. Businesses are finding it more beneficial to either directly source overseas or their suppliers do. Fewer companies are not selling their goods in international markets. And even if a company’s strategy is to stay domestic, competition is coming from every area of the world. It may appear that the domestic supply chain is non-existent because of the spectrum of today’s global market, and the forced decision to function in a global marketplace just to keep up with competition. What has to be remembered is that although companies today may think globally in scope, the actual tactical operations deals with a lot of local blending.
