Why do people become criminals? Criminologists believe that certain people have simply been born criminals while others were not born criminals. They also believe that one criminal could deifferentiate a criminal from regular citizens physical characteristics. People are not born criminals and one can not tell who is a criminal by just looking at a person. There are so many different types of criminals today, it could be impossible to place them all under one theory. This is why there is multiple theories, the following theories such as (1) choice theory, (2) intergrated theory, (3) latent trial theory. These are just a few among the different types of categories that the Criminal Justice System categorizes the criminals.
When comparing the two theories of crimes, you have the liberal version where "people are poor and therefore driven to crime, so as to make a living." The last would be the realistic version stating that "some people when faced with an opportunity to make a lot of cash and face little or no punishment will do anything." I feel that when people are faced with certanity of swift and severe punishment these same people will behave in a law   abiding manner.
