LESSON

INTRODUCTION:

The following lesson plan will demonstrate the most basic task associate with phonemic awareness; recognizing pairs of words.   The task consists of twenty pairs of common monosyllabic words.   Half of the word pair’s rhyme and half do not.   The examiner pronounces each word pair, and the student is asked whether or not they rhyme.
The child who is participating in the lesson is at the kindergarten level, therefore, it is likely that the child would receive scores in the range of most comparison groups in the same age group.
In order to achieve maximum results from the student, the tasks will focus on the rhyming words, beginning, middle and end, sounds in each word.
