Lessons of Life

Life has many obstacles that we always have to learn to get through. The lessons that need to be learned are those that we bring upon ourselves. People go through tough times, but they always come out with a new learning tool. Throughout my twenty-five years of life, I have based my personal experiences and growing up on my own mistakes, the mistakes of others around me, and what I have learned from them both. The three main things that have taught me to learn once and move on from there were the high school life, what has happened in college, and things my family have been through.
In high school I was on the volleyball team, so I was kind of in that fun crowd of friends. I was a good kid and got good grades when I put my mind to it. I have never been the type of person where learning comes super easy. In my problem area, which was always English, I had to try extra hard to pull off a “Bâ€. When I struggled in that subject, I excelled in my favorite after-school activity, volleyball. I truly looked forward to playing volleyball everyday and it became my passion. So, in my high school years, even though I did have difficulties with a lot of English/ literature, I always had something to go to after school, to release my energy and to help with the stress. What I learned from situations like this was to always find something that motivates me and is good for me, because it is so easy to just give up, but when I have something in my life that I am in love with, nothing can stop me.
The summer right out of high school was when I felt like I was an adult heading into the college world. I immediately met a ton of new people that quickly became my good friends. I started becoming very curious about a lot of things and got pretty far into the party scene. Sure, I made some mistakes and got scared of the outcome on more than one occasion, but that is how I learn. I have always been one of those people that have to try...
