In November 2008 Funding lead to Health Care Management problems, this caused an organization for HIV/AIDS to close down. The Health Education Resource Organization known as (HERO) which is located in Baltimore, where more than $4,000 persons received treatment each year.   Some of the services provided were legal assistance, medical care, and counseling services since 1983.   It was one of the largest and oldest health care providers for HIV/AIDS Patients.
It started when Private Donations to HERO had started to decrease because AIDS/HIV has turn out to be a more controllable illness and disease. Even though the association HERO was unique, other clinics and organizations started to inaugurate throughout the city. Approximately 12 clinics opened up similar to HERO.
Apparently a financial scandal began years ago, that led to some discussion for example it; "left questions about the organization's management practices, further impeding its ability to raise money" (Baltimore Sun, 3/15). & as to regards a year previously HERO completely blocked services, and staff had to leave the organization at a balanced pace in addition to, and payroll became a major problem when it came to pay its subcontractors.   The City Health Department stated that the organization ‘was in such in horror shape that its federal grant money should be pulled” (Baltimore Sun, 11/25).
Health Commissioner Joshua-Sharfestein from Baltimore said” The concern was that HERO would just shut one-day and leave customers with no where to depart “Our foundation had to acquire people interested in other programs” prior to that HERO’S grant money and clients had to be transferred to different places, such as Woman accommodating accountability, Johns Chase Braxton Medical Clinic, Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Total Health Care.   Nevertheless, president of HERO’S board director (Alta Cannaday) was...
