Mastering a skill
One skill that everyone uses but not many have been able to master is computer skills. We all live in an ever changing world; we all need to master computer skills. I have chosen this skill due to this “technological” based world. Mastering this skill is a great opportunity for growth in one’s career. It can also open different opportunities and open one to various opportunities.
If we take a look back to when a computer was a luxury, Computers have now been a common part of our lives for over two decades. Now computers are necessities forcing us all to depend on them. Many careers that existed twenty years ago no longer exist today; also a large percentage of careers today did not exist twenty years ago. For example IT Network Engineers and Digital Media Artists just to name a few. As we look around today we can see everything has been technologically enhanced. For example when one goes grocery shopping; the items are scanned electronically and the items are stored on a computer. A digital camera also requires some computer skill to be able to load the pictures onto a computer. Most employers require their employees to have some level of computer skills to do basic job functions. The more “computer savvy” one is the better chance one has to advance in their career. Another example is cellular telephones; one also need’s some level of computer skill in order to utilize all of its functions.
Computers are also a great tool for storing a mass amount of information. One can give up one’s “little black book” and store personal contacts onto a Personal Data Assistant (PDA).
