A Play to Remember but a Process to Improve
Helping to produce this play was definitely challenging. I helped with many different aspects, which included pitching to the audience what this play was about as well as putting together the scenic and clothing designs. I thought that this process would be easy and fast, but it turns out it took a lot more effort and time than we all anticipated. Our group’s greatest strength was being able to give great suggestions and creative ideas. No idea was shot down and we all voted as a group on the best one. My greatest strength was being able to communicate well with other classmates to get certain aspects of the project done. I worked very close with Christine and collectively we brought great ideas to the table. My greatest challenge was trying to find time to get all of my parts done. Christine and I met outside of class time to get certain parts done and we shared responsibilities. When we first started to study Turkey, I did not know much about it. I learned that they were very culturally immersed and diverse. My main research focus was on the clothing of Turkey. In my research, I found that their clothing styles changed a lot over time based on different cultures being brought there. I believe that with the little information I found they have a very interesting culture. For other students who will attempt this assignment I would advise them not to wait until the last minute. I would also advise them to work closely with group members to try to share equal responsibilities. Overall, I had a great time helping to put together this play. With everything that you do there is always something that can improved, but I believe our group did an excellent job with the time and materials we had.
