The jury, as well as the attorney, witness, and judge, must follow certain rules and regulations to be in a trial.
The members of the jury decide the verdict, or outcome, of the case. They are charged to obey the law. The jury has to determine the true facts and apply them to the law. They cannot show sympathy of animosity for either of the parties.
The attorney or attorneys are the people legally appointed by another, to act as his or her agent in the operation of business, specifically one qualified and licensed to act for plaintiffs and defendants in the courtroom. An attorney can either be public or private.
The witness is one who is called on to testify before a court. He or she can give a firsthand account of something seen, heard, or experienced.
The judge is a public officer who is invested with authority to hear and determine litigated causes, and to manager justice between parties in courts held for that purpose. The judge announces the final verdict of a case. He or she must obtain order in the courtroom and make sure that everything runs smoothly.
