INTRODUCTION
The life of a Christian is about sharing and witnessing to others about the joy of faithful living with Christ. Christ lived on earth over two thousand years ago, yet His story is the most revered story for millions of faithful Christians today throughout the world. The gospels tell of the ‘Great Commission’ and through this commandment, the mission work for Christ had begun. The sacrifice that Jesus Christ had made for all needed to be told. From the beginning, the mission to spread the Good News was not easy. There are several factors that would hinder anyone from even attempting such a task. But a true follower of Christ relied on the faith that such a mission can only be successful with God at the helm. There was no need for any special tools or fancy gadgets for this mission, only the knowledge and faith that God will provide for the journey. Materialistic motivation and self glorification was not part of the plan in the humble beginnings of missionary work. One went with nothing, and asked for nothing in return.
But somewhere down the line, the task of spreading the gospel to others has changed and is now become a path for self glorification and wealth. Missionary work has become less about the spreading the word of God and more about trying to gain church membership, which then turns into a more financial benefit for the church. It is in...
