Have you ever had a craving for something that was so bad that you would do just about anything to recreate it or get your hands on it?! In the advertisement I chose, It depicts two guys trying to recreate a drink using a machine that is used for chipping. The argument presented in this advertisement is that Mountain Dew Baja Blast from Taco Bell is so good that you will do crazy things to attempt to recreate your own version of the drink to satisfy your thirst for it. This idea is portrayed through the actions of the people in the advertisement and the setting, how they are dressed, and the colors used along with the warning label.
This argument is most clearly communicated through the setting of the advertisement, and the actions of the people in it. In the advertisement, everything is taking place in the backyard of someone’s house. In the backyard, there is a huger chipper machine where one guy is emptying out a trash can full of fruits into the chipper. Another guy is standing at the other end of the chipper with his mouth wide open waiting for the blends of tropical fruits to come blasting into his mouth. The details in the advertisement are so effective in communicating this idea because of the extent the two guys went through all just to attempt creating Mountain Dew Baja Blast.
In the Advertisement, one of the guys is dressed heavily with sports gear. He is wearing a bicycle helmet, goggles, shoulder pads, chest padding and hockey gloves. It looked like he was going to receive a beating from whatever came out of the chipper! That just goes to show they would have done anything to recreate the amazing taste they got from the Baja Blast drink. Actually, there are two people in the background who have the real Mountain Dew drink from Taco Bell and some food. Those two could have easily shared their Baja Blast drink. Instead, these two guys decided they want their own because it’s that good.
