Ms.

She paced nervously on his front porch as she waited for him. She decided that if he didn't answer the door, then she would know for sure that he had moved on and she should do the same. The possibility tore at her, but she couldn’t deny that it was all too likely to happen. She had always meant to call him again since the last time they saw, but as her feelings became apparent, she did her best to force him from her mind, but obviously, to no avail.
She felt the air shift as he stepped out and looking at her curiously, he spoke. “So, you wanted to talk?”
Swallowing and taking a deep breath to calm herself, she replied. “Yes. I had to see you again. I had to know…”
Uncertainty flickered across his face before he asked carefully, “Had to know what?”
After another deep breath, “I had to know if you feel what I feel. I mean I know we're good friends and I know this might sound crazy, but I feel that I really like you, a lot."
His eyes widened as he took in her words. He never imagined that she'd returned his affections. After the long gap of no contact, he had given up all hope for that, though admittedly, he had never had much hope at all. Yet there she stood before him, offering her heart to him.
Joy went through him as he finally allowed himself to accept that this was real. “I never thought to hear those words from you, but I’m so happy that I am.”
She felt the wonderful feeling of bliss as she realized that he truly felt as she did.
