A Look into My World
My transition into my freshman year has been really tough and trying. Coming into high school I learned quickly that I was no longer in middle school and that it was time for me to become serious and focus more on my work. But not all times were bad times, in the 2nd semester of my freshman year I took a mandatory class called Semantics or Freshman Focus, where basically the teachers teach you about different things that are going on in the world and how to build character in each individual person.
Well as the year ended we had one final project to conduct and it was a multi-genre project that would reflect ourselves as a person. And for this project I did five different genres to represent five different elements that represented me the best throughout my freshman year. I created a slide show of all the friends I made and ones that stayed in my life this year. Myself along with 2 other people made a video of comments for our Semantics class, a collage of my favorite lunch and the people in it, a poem about my mother who has been more than a big part in this transition, and I selected a music piece to represent the lessons learned in my freshman year.
I chose to create a slide show of my new and old friend because I thought it was a very creative way for people to see exactly who has been there for me and who I have been there for. Throughout the slide show there is a song playing that I think the chorus represents exactly how I feel about my friends which is basically telling them not to go, that I will always need them and would be lost without them. I don’t know how my freshman year would have went if I didn’t have half of the friends I do now and I am so grateful for all of them.
