Music Of The 60S Compared To Now

Music in the 1960s.
When music first came about there wasn’t much of a difference to the types of music you listened to and the different artist. The reason all the artist at the start of music sounded the same was because they were the same, generally speaking. At the star of music we had race issues, gender issues, and issues with the genre or style of music played or sang. Now we have over twenty genres or styles of music and over double the amount of subgenres sung by whites, blacks, Chinese, Indian, Hispanic, and islander along with men and women singers.
In the time between the 1960s and 2009 the music that we listen to has gotten a lot more diverse between bands and artists, it has changed in the type of music we listen to, and the reason why the songs we have were made.   Things have changed due to the amount of artist around now, our motivations for listening, and the different interests and desire to listen to music.
In the 1960s there were lots of things going on such as dealings with drugs, peace, and wars. One of the most influential things that related to all of those was music. Music shaped people and influenced them in the 60s their dress, their attitudes, and the way they acted toward others. Some of the types of music that were around then were the 50s pop, Rhythm'n'Blues, Rockabilly, 60s pop, New York Doo Wop, girl groups, R&B Soul, California Wizards, Surf Groups, and Detroit Motown. Some of the more famous artist was: Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Neil Diamond, Ray Charles, and The Beach Boys; but there was to come a genre of music no on would forget. It had its own title and some groups stuck out so much that they had their own genre just for their music. The music to come was so different from any music we have ever known.
