My Friendship

Friendship
Friendship, as defined in Webster’s Dictionary, is the state of being friends, or a friendly feeling. Whereas, a friend can be defined as a person whom one knows, likes, and trusts. This type of a relationship is friendship. Everyone has a true friend, whether it is a person or an animal. In every society in the world people have and follow this relationship and support it. In some societies this relationship is given more importance than others. In Saudi Arabia, friends are given almost the same attention as one’s family member. Family is the closest relationship a person has, and if that is disturbed a friend can be very helpful. For me my friends are a part of my family. I trust my true friends as much as I just trust my closet family member.  The second definition states a friend is an ally, supporter, or sympathizer.   My personal definition of friendship is a feeling or emotion expressed in such a way that another feels wanted and important, a relationship between people where everyone has some companion to talk to when they are in need of one.  
To me a best friend is thought of as a person you tell everything to. They know your deepest darkest secrets, and you know theirs as well. Someone that one might go to in time of need; for example, I remember in the summer of 2004, before I came to United States, I had the most depressing moment of my life. The moment when I found out that my closest brother had passed away. The doctor had diagnosed him when he was young with a heart problem. He would have to be admitted to the hospital at least once a month, the doctors would prescribe medications but they never seemed to work. One day my brother went in and the doctor checked him out and explained to our father that he needed heart surgery and that the only surgeon close enough was in the United Kingdom.  Two weeks later my father and brother traveled to the United Kingdom for his surgery....
