National Health Care

I support repeal of the National Health Insurance program. I believe the National Health Insurance program is unconstitutional. There is not a place in the Constitution that says the government has a right to force people to pay for something they do not want. Through the National Health Insurance program, Americans would be required to have health insurance either through their own purchase, an employer, or a government program. This gives the government too big of a role in health care.   In my opinion, health care is a choice and it is wrong to force people to spend money on health care if they are not willing to pay. I think that American’s need options, because being told what they are going to pay for does not sit well with most.   The National Health Insurance program is just another way that the government is trying to control the people.
By forcing everyone to pay for health care, the National Health Insurance program will hurt the economy even more. There is evidence that if businesses are required to provide health care coverage for their employees, the businesses will fire hundreds of employees to avoid paying an extremely high cost for insurance. This will lead to an even higher unemployment rate. If people are required to pay for health insurance, then they may not be able to pay all their other bills, which will make the current economy even worse off.
It is obvious that health care is a serious issue that needs to be changed drastically, but not in this way. I do believe that the health care system needs to be reformed, but in a way that is constitutional and will not ruin the economy.
