Odyssesus : a leader with difficulties

“Odysseus: A leader with difficulties”

At times, Odysseus found it difficult to be a leader.   He was forced to make important decisions that would affect himself and his men.   Sometimes Odysseus’ men challenged his authority, and by doing so set them back on their voyage.   Odysseus made some bad decisions, but so did his men.   Sometimes his men were foolish.   An example of their foolishness would be when they opened the bag of winds because they thought that there was gold inside, and that Odysseus didn’t want to share it.   To their surprise it was filled with powerful winds, so when they opened it, it blew them off course.   Another important decision was when Circe told him that six of his men would be killed.   He decided not to tell them because in order to save any of his men or his ship, they would have to sail as fast as they could past the rock.   If his men knew that they were going to die they would have dropped their oars and hid, causing them to slow down.   He made a great decision when he found out how to escape the Cyclops.   There, he put his cleverness to good use.   His mistake their was revealing his true identity to the Cyclops.   Again, this delayed their journey home again.
In conclusion, being a leader can be fun, but it can also be difficult because your decisions can affect others.
